Shipping Temperature and Lyophilized Products

Some Azurion Wellness orders ship without ice or a cold pack. This page explains the general reasoning behind that practice, what to inspect when a package arrives, and when to contact us.

Why orders may ship without ice packs

Many items are shipped in a dry, sealed, lyophilized (freeze-dried) form. For those presentations, carriers and shippers commonly rely on protective packaging rather than coolant, because ice packs have a limited effective window, can melt well before delivery, and may introduce condensation and moisture inside a parcel.

Ice packs are not used as a default on every order. Whether coolant is included depends on the item, the packaging format, the destination, and the transit plan. The absence of a cold pack does not by itself indicate that an order was handled improperly, and it is not a statement that any given item is unaffected by heat.

What lyophilized means

Lyophilization is a freeze-drying process that removes most water from a material and leaves a dry cake or powder in a sealed vial. Reducing moisture generally reduces some routes of degradation compared with a solution sitting in liquid form.

This is a general property of the dry format. It is not a guarantee about any particular compound, and dry material can still be affected by heat, humidity, light, physical damage, or a compromised seal.

Factors affecting stability during transit

  • The specific compound and its own documented characteristics
  • Packaging format, seal integrity, and secondary protection
  • Moisture and humidity exposure, including condensation
  • Light exposure
  • Temperature range experienced in transit and at the delivery point
  • Duration of transit and time a parcel sits before it is brought inside
  • Handling events such as crushing, dropping, or puncture

These factors interact. No single factor, considered alone, determines the condition of what arrives.

Why short-term warmth does not by itself establish product damage

A parcel that feels warm on arrival has not, on that basis alone, been shown to be damaged. Ambient warmth during transit is only one input, and it is not a measurement of the material inside the vial.

At the same time, we do not claim the opposite. Warmth may matter, and we make no representation that any specific temperature exposure or any specific duration is acceptable for a given item. Where a condition matters to your work, rely on product-specific documentation, batch records, and your own verification rather than on a general expectation.

What customers should inspect upon delivery

  • The outer parcel: crushing, punctures, water damage, or evidence of tampering
  • Inner packaging and any protective material
  • The vial itself: cracks, chips, or a loose, lifted, or missing seal or cap
  • Visible moisture or wetness inside the packaging or around the closure
  • The appearance of the contents: unexpected discoloration, or a cake that appears melted, collapsed, or contaminated
  • The label and batch information against your order documentation

What to do after delivery

  1. Bring the parcel indoors promptly rather than leaving it outside.
  2. Inspect the packaging and each vial as described above, without delay.
  3. Photograph the outer packaging, inner packaging, and any vial that looks questionable, before handling it further.
  4. Keep the packaging and shipping label until any question about the shipment is resolved.
  5. Store items according to the product-specific storage instructions and batch documentation supplied with your order.

When to contact Azurion Wellness

Contact us promptly if a vial arrives damaged, unsealed, wet, contaminated, discolored, or otherwise visibly compromised, or if the parcel shows damage or evidence of tampering. Contact us as well if the label or batch information does not match your order documentation, or if a shipment appears lost or significantly delayed.

Reach out as soon as you notice a problem and include your order number and photographs where possible, so we can review the shipment with you.

Important limitations

We do not claim that every item is heat stable, that heat cannot affect an item, that coolant is never necessary, or that a warm shipment is guaranteed to be unaffected. We do not state a specific stability period for any item without verified, product-specific evidence.

This information is general and does not replace product-specific storage instructions, batch documentation, stability data, or professional laboratory procedures.
